Parakite Portugal
Parakite in Portugal
Discover a different way to fly.
Start straight on a Parakite, move across from paragliding, try different wings or simply come and fly. Official training is delivered through our partner school FelloFly.
What a parakite really is
It is not simply a small paraglider.
What sets a Parakite apart is the control system — and the pilot’s ability to significantly change the wing’s configuration in flight. Flying stops being only about direction: it becomes energy management.
A small wing flies fast. A Parakite flies fast because the pilot decides it should, and slows down when the pilot decides it should not. That is the difference.
Speed, path and height. Energy ties it all together.
- Speed accelerate · brake · hold
- Path where the wing goes
- Height gain · manage · spend
- Energy everything else comes from here
Parakite flying is energy management.

Learning parakite
You do not need to learn paragliding first.
In Parakite training through our partnership with FelloFly, you can start with no previous paragliding experience. Official training is delivered by the partner school; Happy Soaring is not a school — it handles choosing the wing, the sale and the after-sales.
A pilot should not have to adapt to the only wing available.
- Different pilots
- Different conditions
- Different sizes
The method uses different wings at different stages: 8, 10 and 12 m² mini-wings in training, and the Mullet 2 on the Parakite Course — a model that comes in six sizes, from 13 to 26. The right size is not the same for everyone.
The Happy Soaring method
Body first. Controls after.
First we make the pilot automatic. Then we add the wing.

Rental Coming soon
Rent the day. Not the wing.
You do not book a wing — you book the day of use. If conditions change, the size can change too, when it makes sense and is available.
The Parakites remain under Happy Soaring’s management.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know how to fly a paraglider first?
No. You can start straight on a Parakite, with specific training. Having flown a paraglider helps as a base, but it does not replace that training — the control system is different.
Who delivers the training and the licence?
Training is delivered by our partner school FelloFly. Happy Soaring is not a school: it handles choosing the wing, the sale and the after-sales. The framework for flying in Portugal runs through the FPVL, and the path includes federation membership and insurance.
Can I try before buying?
Yes — that is what the Demo Sessions are for. They depend on equipment availability, the conditions on the day and suitability for the pilot, so they are arranged case by case.
Where do people fly Parakite in Portugal?
On the Atlantic coast, and the day decides. There is no fixed site: the spot is chosen according to the wind, the tide and who is flying. The references in the region are Fonte da Telha, Lagoa de Albufeira, Meco, Alfarim, Peniche and Praia da Gralha — but none of them is guaranteed availability.
